The group’s objective is to bring the full benefit of the firm’s experience in capital markets (which includes IPOs on every major exchange in the world, acquisition finance, block transactions, swap agreements, etc.) and the firm’s extensive relationships to bear on every situation, regardless of sector, size, form or region.
Warburg Pincus helps portfolio companies with a wide variety of communications services. These include counseling on strategic initiatives, assisting with crisis and issues management, providing turnkey media relations support on transactions, and introducing portfolio companies to business-to-business and consumer agencies in the areas of advertising, brand, demand generation, digital/web, direct mail, investor relations and public relations. With professionals in New York, London and Beijing, the Communications group is able to assist globally, in real time, as needed.
POLITICAL RISK, GLOBAL POLICY AND REGULATORY ISSUES
Warburg Pincus offers assistance to portfolio companies in assessing political risk and addressing challenging governmental and regulatory issues throughout the world, particularly in emerging markets. The firm also assists on policy-related issues at the federal and state level in the United States.
ENVIRONMENTAL, SOCIAL AND CORPORATE GOVERNANCE
The firm offers assistance to portfolio companies in developing environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) policies. The firm provides advice on ways to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact, and on programs to enhance corporate social responsibility and promote corporate governance.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY STRATEGY AND ASSESSMENT
The firm offers assistance to portfolio companies with a wide variety of Information Technology Strategy and Assessment services. This includes technology diligence and risk assessment in acquisitions and divestitures; counseling on strategic technology initiatives (business case development, product requirements definition, technology architecture development); assistance with Business-IT alignment, technology talent assessment and CIO/CTO hiring; implementing software development methodology and discipline; identification and selection of delivery partners for technology services; and crisis and issues management. With professionals in New York and Beijing, the Information Technology Strategy and Assessment group is able to assist globally, in real-time, as needed.
Warburg Pincus supports our portfolio companies through a range of services. These include engaging our network of industry professionals to provide assessments of a portfolio company’s spend, employee benefits and various risk exposures; providing a suite of preferred vendors, who bring subject matter expertise and consistent levels of service; reviewing consortium opportunities that can drive savings within certain indirect spend categories; and real estate related support, including on transactional matters. Warburg Pincus’ Shared Services function creates value for our portfolio companies by introducing potential opportunities to capture meaningful annual savings, through best practice sharing and providing certain early stage portfolio company support.
