Lionel I. Pincus, Founder and Chairman, is a 50-year veteran of the
investment business. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, he
received an M.B.A. from Columbia University Graduate School of Business. Prior to founding Warburg Pincus, Mr. Pincus was a partner of Ladenburg, Thalmann & Company. A founding director of the National Venture Capital Association, he is Chair Emeritus of the Trustees of Columbia University and a member of the Columbia Business School Board of Overseers. Mr. Pincus is also a Trustee of the New York-Presbyterian Hospital and the American Museum of Natural History; a director of the New York City Investment Fund, the Partnership for New York City and the School of American Ballet; and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the World Wildlife Fund National Council.
