Henry Schacht joined Warburg Pincus in 1995. During leaves of absence, he served as chairman and chief executive officer and then chairman of Lucent Technologies. Prior to joining Warburg Pincus, Mr. Schacht was chairman and chief executive officer of Cummins Engine Company. He is a director of Alcoa and previously served as a director of Alcatel-Lucent, Lucent, AT&T, Avaya, CBS, Chase Manhattan, The New York Times and Johnson & Johnson. He is a trustee of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, a board member of Newman’s Own Foundation, Newman’s Own Inc. and the Association of Hole In The Wall Camps, former chairman of the Board of Trustees of The Ford Foundation and a former trustee of Yale University. Mr. Schacht graduated from Yale University and earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
