Michael E. Martin joined Warburg Pincus in 2009 and leads the Financial Services team. Between 2006 and 2009, Mr. Martin was president of Brooklyn NY Holdings, LLC, a private investment company. Prior to 2006, Mr. Martin was a vice chairman and managing director of UBS Investment Bank where he also served as a member of the UBS Investment Bank Board and its Global Executive Committee. He has also held senior positions at Credit Suisse First Boston and practiced corporate law at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz. Mr. Martin was a clerk to the Honorable Stephen Reinhardt, of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He holds a B.S. in economics from Claremont Men's College and a J.D. from Columbia University School of Law. Mr. Martin is on the Board of Directors of Sallie Mae, Aeolus Re, Ltd., Cortview Capital, National Penn Bancshares, Inc., Primerica Inc. and The Mutual Fund Store.
