John Shearburn joined Warburg Pincus in 2007 and focuses on the firm's fund-raising and investor relations activities. Prior to joining Warburg Pincus, he was a Managing Director and Global Head of Marketing for Goldman Sachs' private equity fund of funds business. Previously, Mr. Shearburn held several positions at Goldman Sachs and served as Vice President and Chief of Staff to Goldman Sachs' President and Co-Chief Operating Officer. He also was a Foreign Service Officer in the US Department of State and served in Washington D.C., Mexico City, Mexico; Managua, Nicaragua; and Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Mr. Shearburn is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and did graduate work in International Relations at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
