Alain J.P. Belda joined Warburg Pincus in 2009 to lead the firm’s investment efforts in Latin America and also provides strategic counsel across the firm’s portfolio. Mr. Belda retired from Alcoa in 2009, after serving as president and chief executive officer of Alcoa from 1999 and chief executive officer and chairman from 2001. Mr. Belda spent four decades at Alcoa having first joined the organization’s Brazilian affiliate, Alcoa Aluminio in 1969. He is a director of Omega Energia. He is also a director of Citigroup Inc., International Business Machines Corp. and Renault.
