Alain J. P. Belda joined Warburg Pincus in 2009 and leads the firm's investment efforts in Latin America, providing strategic counsel across the firm's portfolio. Previously, Mr. Belda was named chairman of the board of Alcoa in 2008 after having served as president and chief executive officer since 1999. Mr. Belda spent four decades at Alcoa having first joined the organization’s Brazilian affiliate, Alcoa Aluminio in 1969. He is also a director of Citigroup Inc., International Business Machines Corp. and Renault.
