Michael F. Profenius joined Warburg Pincus in 2004 and leads the firm’s U.S. real estate investing activities. Previously, he was Global Co-Head and Managing Director of Merrill Lynch’s Investment Banking and Hospitality Group. During his 18-year career at Merrill Lynch, Mr. Profenius was involved in 73 equity offerings which raised $18 billion of capital for public and private real estate companies, including 18 initial public offerings. He received a B.A. in economics and political science from Yale University. Mr. Profenius is a member of the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA) and the Urban Land Institute. He is a board member of Wall Homes and Resolution II Holdings (Jersey) Limited.
