David A. Barr leads the firm’s buyout efforts in the CIS sector. Prior to joining Warburg Pincus in 2000, Mr. Barr was a managing director at Butler Capital, where he focused on consumer and industrial leveraged buyout transactions for more than ten years. Mr. Barr also previously worked at Goldman Sachs. He received a B.A. in economics from Wesleyan University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. Mr. Barr is a director of Builders FirstSource, the Neiman Marcus Group, Scotsman Industries and Total Safety. He is also a director of Good Shepherd Services, a member of the portfolio subcommittee for the Wesleyan University Endowment and a sector group advisor for the New York City Investment Fund.
