Prestwick Pharmaceuticals Stage: Growth Date of Investment: 7/2006

Prestwick Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is a product-based, specialty
pharmaceutical company engaged in the development and marketing of
small molecule drugs for chronic diseases of the central nervous system
(“CNS”). In July 2006, Warburg Pincus led the first tranche of a $60
million Series C financing that will be used to develop and
commercialize the company’s pipeline of product candidates. Founded in
2002 and based in Washington, D.C., Prestwick has several product
candidates for a range of CNS conditions in clinical development, led
by tetrabenazine for the treatment of chorea associated with
Huntington’s disease. Warburg Pincus holds one seat on Prestwick’s
Board of Directors.
