Synesis is a U.K.-based life insurance company that was formed in 2006.
The company was set up by Isabel Hudson, Mark Duffy and Jay Shah who
worked together at Prudential plc, and who first became involved in the
trend for insurance companies and pension scheme trustees to outsource
pension liabilities to specialist providers. Synesis intends to
establish itself as
a leading acquirer of medium to large annuity portfolios from U.K.
insurance
companies and pension funds. Warburg Pincus invested in the start-up
alongside JPMorgan and Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS).
