Antero Resources Corporation, based in Denver, Colorado, is an independent oil and gas company currently focused on the exploration and exploitation of unconventional natural gas resources within the Rocky Mountain, Mid-Continent and Appalachia regions of the United States. Warburg Pincus led the company’s initial equity financing in 2003. Paul Rady and Glen Warren, the company's C.E.O. and President, respectively, have long and distinguished track records in the oil and gas industry at organizations including Barrett Resources Corporation and Pennaco Energy. Rady and Warren are joined at Antero by many of the managers that worked alongside them previously. In its first two years of operations, Antero built one of the leading positions in the Barnett Shale in Fort Worth, Texas. In 2005, the company sold these assets to XTO Energy for approximately $1 billion. The management team remains with Antero Resources and continues to explore and develop properties in the Rockies, Mid-Continent and Appalachia. Warburg Pincus led a follow-on equity financing in 2007.
