A provider of credit card processing and other value-added transaction-based services, Warburg Pincus funded the development of NOVA starting in November 1991. NOVA has established a highly profitable, rapidly growing business as a result of its superior processing technology and innovative applications software. As a result of a major acquisition program, NOVA has become the fifth largest merchant credit card processor in the United States. NOVA became a public company in May 1996. Warburg Pincus distributed its shares to its limited partners in 1998.
