Domus Homecare, headquartered in Munich, Germany, is a leading European homecare equipment manufacturer that designs, assembles and markets a range of sophisticated rehabilitation aid products for the geriatric and disabled persons home care market. Domus holds the clear market leadership in Germany in its two major product categories: wheelchair add-ons and bath lifters represented by Domus' subsidiaries, Alber and Aquatec, respectively. Domus is also a leading player in Sweden through its subsidiary Dolomite and in the U.K. through its subsidiary Bison Bede and, as a result, has a leading position in the growing European market. Warburg Pincus acquired Domus with management in late 1997. Warburg Pincus also funded two major follow-on acquisitions, Dolomite and Bison Bede, the leading manufacturer of stairlifts in the UK. Warburg Pincus sold Domus to Invacare Inc. in September 2004.
