SynQuest, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, develops and markets a suite of supply chain management software products used to plan, optimize, and control manufacturing and distribution. Warburg Pincus originally invested into the predecessor of SynQuest in April 1994. With the support and capital of Warburg Pincus, SynQuest acquired smaller technology companies over time to build its capabilities and product suite. Today, SynQuest's solutions extend beyond synchronized manufacturing to include optimized planning of production and distribution of goods across an enterprise. The system is unique because of its ability to link, in real time, supply chain management and shop floor execution for a broad range of manufacturing industries and production environments. Companies across many different vertical industries rely on SynQuest supply chain execution and planning tools. Representative customers include Ford Motor Corporation, Titleist, Penske Logistics, Sauder Woodworking Company, Nordstrom, and Hon Industries. The company completed its initial public offering in August 2000.
