Technologies is a market leader in the Internet infrastructure software
known as Digital Asset Management (DAM). Its core product, TEAMS, is
enterprise-class software that enables organizations to better manage
their digital assets - video, audio, images, and text - and leverage
them for both internal process improvement and external marketing and
revenue enhancement opportunities. Artesia delivers a complete DAM
solution, including services to customize the product to the customer's
requirements and integrate it into existing workflow management systems
or other applications, such as editing systems, Web personalization
software, and prepress systems. In addition to its core DAM
functionality, Artesia offers functionality for selected vertical
applications, such as publishing and marketing. Key customers to date
include such diverse media companies as Pearson, Sony Music, Random
House and Discovery Channel Europe, as well as leading corporate
customers such as General Motors, Daimler Chrysler and Canon. Warburg
Pincus teamed with management in 1999 to purchase certain intellectual
property from the Thomson Corporation to found Artesia.
