Headquartered in Taiwan, Global Lighting Technologies, Inc. develops lighting technologies in the U.S. and manufactures backlighting modules for flat panel display devices, such as cellular phones, PDAs, notebook computers, and monitors, in Taiwan and China. Global Lighting Technologies was established in 2000 by combining various manufacturing assets of Shanghai Shinny Electronic Technology Corporation Ltd. and Suzhou Shinny Plastics Co. Ltd. with the Solid State research and development arm of Lumitex, Inc., a U.S. lighting technology company based in Cleveland, Ohio.
