Canbriam Energy Inc., established in 2007 and based in Calgary, Alberta, is an exploration and production company that focuses on unconventional oil and gas resources in onshore regions primarily in Canada and also in the United States. Warburg Pincus led the company's initial $300 million equity commitment in early 2008. Canbriam CEO Paul Myers and CFO Stephen Soules previously held the same roles at Esprit Energy Trust. The senior executive team will draw upon its extensive experience in the types of unconventional plays targeted by Canbriam.
