Alita Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is a specialty pharmaceutical company founded by Warburg Pincus together with the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Carole Ben-Maimon, M.D., in September 2006 to focus on licensing, developing, and commercializing novel treatments for diseases in urology and women’s health. At founding, Warburg Pincus provided the company with a $30 million equity line of credit. Since its founding, Alita has successfully licensed its first product, targeted at preventing recurrent urinary tract infections, and is actively pursuing additional licensing opportunities.
