iParadigms is the leading provider of anti-plagiarism software, for use by the academic market, and technology solutions that validate the originality of manuscripts and other commercial documents where textual intellectual property protection is important. The Oakland, Calif.-based company has introduced Turnitin®, an online product and service suite, for use by teachers and professors to monitor student papers for unoriginal work and improper citation. iParadigms' databases allow teachers to detect both "recycled" papers, which have become ubiquitous online, and "clip and paste" papers using material from the Internet. The company's proprietary document analysis technology, including iThenticate™, was developed by a team of University of California-Berkeley researchers and computer scientists.
