Osum Oil Sands Corp. is a Calgary-based private exploration and production company that is developing oil sands projects in the Cold Lake and Grosmont regions of northern Alberta, Canada. Osum is led by Chairman and CEO Richard Todd, the former CEO of Mustang Resources, and President Peter Putnam, previously of Petrel Robertson Consulting Ltd. Osum's project execution team brings years of oil sands development experience from their prior positions at leading companies such as Shell Canada, Canadian Natural Resources Ltd., and Amoco. Osum is continuing delineation work on its Cold Lake properties and expects to file a commercial application in late 2009, with first production anticipated in 2013. At the company's Grosmont carbonates properties, management plans to begin development work following receipt of results from the company's pilot program, which are expected in early 2010. In August 2008, Warburg Pincus led a C$275 million equity financing round.
