Headquartered in Southern California, CrowdStrike is a startup information security business led by George Kurtz, former McAfee Chief Technology Officer and co-founder and CEO of Foundstone, and Dmitri Alperovitch, former McAfee Vice President of Threat Research. CrowdStrike was formed on the belief that traditional security solutions are ineffective against the growing volume and complexity of today’s threats. The team is focused on building a new, data-centric information security solution to help enterprises and governments combat these modern attacks. Prior to the formation of CrowdStrike, George Kurtz was an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Warburg Pincus.
