Established in 2000 by Warburg Pincus and the management team, led by senior power executives Douglas Egan and Gary Lambert, CPV was formed to develop independent power generation projects in the U.S. When the initial strategy proved challenging following the turmoil of 2001 and 2002, CPV successfully transformed itself into a provider of outsourced asset management, development and consulting services to owners and other developers of power plants. CPV has been retained by various lender and equity groups to oversee more than 6,000 megawatts of capacity in several regions across the United States. In addition, as demand for new power generation projects has improved, CPV is once again pursuing new development opportunities throughout the U.S.
