Founded in 2000 by Warburg Pincus, ev3 is a specialty medical device company focused on identifying and developing novel technologies in underserved treatment markets for cardiovascular, neurovascular, and peripheral vascular diseases. ev3 's diverse yet synergistic portfolio of novel endovascular technologies offer the potential to pioneer meaningful new endovascular treatments and capture significant market share in emerging endovascular device segments. On June 16, 2005, ev3 completed its initial public offering, raising $120 million in net proceeds for the company. ev3 acquired Micro Therapeutics in January 2006.
