In November 1998, Warburg Pincus led the buyout of this digital fiber-optic long-distance voice and data-telecommunications service network operator headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. LCI became a public company in May 1993. Warburg Pincus distributed its common shares of LCI during 1996 and 1997. In 1998 LCI was acquired by Qwest Communications.
