NuLens Ltd., based in Herzliya Pituah, Israel, is a medical device company operating in the field of development and manufacturing of intra-ocular lenses ("IOL") used in surgical procedures to treat cataracts and presbyopia. The first technology the company has brought under development is an accommodative intra-ocular lens (“IOL”) with over 10 diopters of accommodative power. This novel IOL technology, operating through real accommodation, is based on the patents of Dr. Joshua Ben-nun. In 2006, Warburg Pincus led a $6.0 million series B investment along with Elron Electronic Industries Ltd.
