Listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, AmRest SE (WSE: EAT) is one of Central and Eastern Europe’s largest restaurant groups with a variety of brands and growing international presence. The company currently runs over 650 category leading Quick Service and Casual Dining restaurants mainly in Poland, Spain, the United States, Russia, and the Czech Republic. Since 1993 the Company has developed a portfolio of well recognized brands including KFC, Pizza Hut, Burger King, Starbucks and Applebee's based on franchise or joint venture partnerships with YUM!, Starbucks, Burger King, and DineEquity. In April 2011 AmRest acquired Restauravia, owner of La Tagliatella brand and operator of over 30 KFC restaurants in Spain. The acquisition provides AmRest with its own proprietary brand, which it plans to roll out across various new markets, including some of the larger global emerging markets.

Since its investment in June 2010, Warburg Pincus has supported the Company’s ambitious growth plans by providing strategic guidance, growth capital, and support on M&A and capital market activities. In February 2011, Warburg Pincus made a follow-on investment into the Company to support its acquisition of the Spanish restaurant operator Restauravia. In June 2012, AmRest announced the disposal if the Applebee’s business in the US with expected closing in October.
