Havells, based in Delhi, is a leading player in the Indian electrical and power distribution equipment sector. Havells focuses on lower voltage products meant largely for use in buildings for residential, office, retail and hospitality segments. Havells' products include circuit protection devices, switches, power cables and wires and electrical consumer durables (energy-saving lamps, fans and lighting fixtures). In April 2007, Havells acquired SLI Sylvania, the fourth largest global player in the lighting products business. Sylvania primarily operates in Europe and Latin America. The combined company has sales presence across 50 countries and a global manufacturing footprint. Havells was founded by Delhi-based Qimatrai Gupta in 1971, who continues to run the company along with his son, Anil Gupta.
