Black Swan Energy Ltd. is a Calgary, Alberta-based exploration and production company formed in 2010 focused on the exploration and development of proven hydrocarbon trends in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. The company’s strategy is to create value through the application of advanced drilling and completion technologies to early-entry positions.
The management team is led by CEO David Maddison and COO Marc Mereau, both of whom spent approximately 30 years at Talisman Energy and its predecessors, and were most recently in senior leadership roles supporting the development of key North American plays.
Warburg Pincus led a line of equity financing to Black Swan in March 2011.
