ACB (India) Ltd. is an India-based provider of coal beneficiation services focused on washing, processing and removing impurities from coal. The company also entered the power generation business by commissioning over 300 megawatts (“MW”) of capacity which is primarily fueled by “coal rejects,” a term given to lower grade coal which emerges as a by-product of the beneficiation process. ACB’s clients consist of major consumers of coal including power generation and cement companies. The management team is led by ex-Captain Rudra Sen Sindhu, who has deep domain expertise in coal extraction, beneficiation, transportation and mine operation. Warburg Pincus invested in ACB between March 2006 and March 2008.
